New alien and native Ektaphelenchid nematodes (Tylenchomorpha: Ektaphelenchinae) from China with details on host association and geographical distribution

Ektaphelenchids are entomophilic nematode species, commonly found in association with insects. In the present study, an alien and a native Chinese ektaphelenchid species were described based on integrative taxonomic approaches. Both have three lateral lines excretory pore at same level or posterior to nerve ring. The China is Ektaphelenchus apophysatus sp. nov. which was recovered from logs of imported Pinus taeda Ningbo port, China. It characterized by females having conical body end (tail) variable morphology tip, i.e., sharply pointed, bluntly rounded irregular, males spicules characteristic apophysis two pairs caudal papillae. Ektaphelenchoides zingiberis rhizosphere ginger, growing cultivated areas Shandong province. can be presence orange-red coloured particles intestine, female region conical, ending elongate slender clavate terminus. host associations, insect vectors distribution both genera also outlined study. study will aid nematologists explore biological aspects ektaphelenchids useful investigate nature relationships between nematodes their associates.
